Start Your Business.

Hi, I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

So there are these different sections of my website and there are three main sections, which is kind of how I get in contact with people.

Yesterday, we talked about, you know, growing your business, and where you’d, you’d be able to contact me if you were looking for help with growing your business.

Another area, which is a very specific area, it’s a very different type of area, it’s starting your business.

So if you have an interest in starting a business, and doesn’t matter, even if you have zero ideas of what you would start it over. But you have an idea that you probably would like to go into business, and you’d like to live off from that side of life, as opposed to just get a paycheck all the time, and being an employee.

If you’d like to try that out and see whether you’d be a good fit or not, then I’d love to have a conversation with you.

I do not charge anything to be able to have that conversation but I also make no promises that I can help you whatsoever.

But I do have some tips, I do have some ideas and if it works out, I’m a Business Investor.

So I can help invest in your business, I’ll invest time and so forth. I’ll show you what it would take for you to be able to do it too. That’s if you if you would qualify for that type of thing. It’s not for everybody. Business Ownership is not for everybody.

But if you would like to have that conversation, then I’d like you to go to BrianJPombo.com.

Now from there, you can go to the menu and you can type in, you can click on start my business.

Speaking from your perspective, are you going to just BrianJPombo.com/start-my-business.

Real simple for those of you watching, you could see it across the screen. So hopefully that’s helpful for you.

That’s all I’m going to talk about today.

I’m a Business investor, I have these talks on a regular basis. But sometimes I don’t always just give a straight idea for something that you can do right off the bat.

So if you’d like to contact me, it’s another great way for you to reach out and contact me and I’d love I’d love to be able to talk with you and see see if there’s anything I can do to help. So go check that out.

Tomorrow, I’m going to be talking about the final way that people get in contact with me via my website.

We’ll continue talking about strategies, principles and tactics that you can use to grow your business every day and just make your life better.

So we’ll be talking about that more in episodes up ahead. But I have nearly 1000 episodes behind me. If you go and check out BrianJPombo.com.

In the media section, you’ll be able to see all these see and listen to all these episodes I have at both in audio podcast form and in video form. So go check it out.

We’ll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

Grow Your Business.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

There’s some areas that I wanted to cover from this commentary that I got earlier last week.

I wanted to get to that but first, I wanted to cover some areas of my website that you may not have seen it on the front page, and in the menu, there are three significant sections there.

If you’re looking to reach out to me, the first has to do with growing your business, and it says, grow my business.

Now, if you click on grow my business that will take you to a page and you can go there directly from here. It’s BrianJPombo.com/grow-my-business/.

Brian J Pombo.com will get you there, if you click on the menu, you’ll be able to find it.

But it is the grow my business page where you can sign up, or at least apply to be to have a business strategy session with me. So go check that out, see if you can apply.

It does cost money but if you if you qualify, you may be able to qualify for a discounted rate.

So go check it out, apply and see if see if it’s even worth your while to be able to talk with me about how to grow your business from where it’s at.

You know, yeah, must have some idea of where you’re at and where you want to be and how soon you want to get there. Let’s have a chat about it. And you’re guaranteed to be able to walk away with some value, otherwise you don’t pay a dime.

So how’s that for a good deal?

Go check out BrianJPombo.com/grow-my-business.

That’s all I got for today.

Tomorrow, I’m going to be talking about another section of my website that you might be interested in. If you’re not interested in growing a business.

Maybe you’ll be interested in this one. We’ll see you tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

Living A Daring Adventure πŸ§—β€β™€οΈπŸšŽ

Living a daring adventure.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Today I’m coming to you from my car. Because all the kids are trying to sleep up in the hotel room. This neon light is a little bit of a clue as to where I am, I’m in the great state of Nevada, the Silver State.

If you’ve never been to Nevada, you’ll see a lot of this around. Because of the glitz and glamour and gambling and everything else that comes with Nevada, I’m in a very touristy type of town called Winnemucca. It is out in the middle of nowhere along Highway 80, which crosses straight across Nevada.

And it’s funny because we didn’t come the regular way, while we came from a regular way coming from Oregon, which is straight through the middle of nowhere. And you go for hours and hours and hours without seeing sight or sound of civilization.

This whole time, the reason why it’s an adventure is that I came with my kids, okay, and my wife, and we rented a car, we came all the way out. And it’s just as you can imagine having three kids, seven years old, four years old, and two years old.

It takes a little longer, if you can’t imagine it, I can’t explain it, it’s just it’s one of those things where you just have to experience it, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I mean, honestly, I make a lot of fun of it and everything, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way.

If I didn’t want it to be adventurous, I just would have taken a plane. And that would have been made, and it would have been nice and quiet. But I you know, you only live once and your kids only have a childhood once and I like getting them out of the house.

And if I could do it on business, great, I get right off my end of it. The rest of it’s all family stuff, so it doesn’t work as well on taxes. So you just got to be able to split the difference there and, you know, make everything work out.

Especially right, you know, talk to your accountant, I’m not, I’m not giving you any type of tax advice whatsoever, talk to a professional, it’s fun, it’s really a lot of fun to do, you know, we’re making out making memories.

The kids don’t care whether you’re in any place historical or any place that matters. What matters is the fun that you have along the way.

I’ve mentioned a few nights ago about listening to old time radio, and listening to the drama and actors of that time period. And since then, there’s been a whole lot of other stuff that has been put out, you know, decade after decade, other forms of audio theatre has been produced.

And so I was listening to some, I had found a couple bad come out during the 70s and, and 80s some some stuff we had, we’re listening to the The Hobbit being performed and Wizard of Oz and Alice Through the Looking Glass and all this stuff that, you know, no one even realizes this stuff is out there.

But so much of it’s out there for free.

Now, you can find it in these places and so we find fun, crazy stuff to do stuff that’s different and weird. And then we’re just that type of family and we just have that type of life. I just want to recommend that you got to add some adventure, some color some pizzazz into your life, whether you have a family, a direct family or not to be able to share it with get out there and start having an adventure.

Life is too short, it goes by too quick, have fun while you still have the chance. And if you can mix it up with business, you can make money at the same time and be able to afford to eat do everything that you’re meant to do while you’re on this is this earth.

So hopefully that makes sense to you. We’ve got also my book I promote on a regular basis, AmazonProofBook.com, you can go there and get a free copy of the book that I wrote, I’ll be having other books coming out in the next year or two here.

So watch for those also audio version of that book is available through that website, AmazonProofBook.com get through the free copy version and you’ll have an option on purchasing a hardcopy and an audio book.

So there’s another thing that’s all I got for tonight, we’ll see where where tomorrow will bring us I’ve got you know, I’ll be meeting with business friends and, and Associates as the days go forward.

So it’ll be more and more interesting. We’ll be heading to the next state, so stay tuned for that you have a great night.

In the meantime, get out there and let them out. Add your cap.

Pray For Me πŸ™πŸšŽ (Family Road Trip Time)

Time for Brian to get lost road trippin’ with his favorite family allies.

That means the wife and three young kids driving across states. Yup, pray for him! πŸ˜‡

Pray for me.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I’m about to go through a very harrowing experience. And the best way to describe it would be the longest road trip ever with the most amount of children in one vehicle that I’ve ever encountered.

That’s right, me and the Pombo clan, are going across the country.

Well, not across the country, but we’re going a few states over and a few states back over a six-day period. So we’re going to be traveling to Salt Lake City is our furthest destination and we are going the quickest route there.

Which is also the most boring route possible because you’re hitting nothing but desert, all the way and we’re driving the whole family.

This is the first time I’ve taken the whole family on a business trip, oftentimes I will fly, this trip, I have driven it multiple times, because I’ve been to conferences in Salt Lake City, I have business partners in the area and so I’m used to it. It’s not that big of a deal.

But we’re traveling, we’re taking everybody this time, we’re going to drive it. And this is the first time we’re trying it. So this is an experiment and I’m inviting you to come along with me as we go through this adventure.

I’m not going to show you all the details. I don’t think most of the social media outlets would appreciate the graphic detail of three children of seven, four, and two, and two parents at their wit’s end trying to survive in the desert.

So we’re stopping in Winnemucca on the way there, we’re going to spend the night in Winnemucca out in the middle of nowhere. But it’s pretty much our best-case scenario in terms of somewhere in between here in Salt Lake.

We’re coming from Grants Pass Oregon if you’re new, and we’re going Winnemucca and then after that Salt Lake City. Be in Salt Lake for a couple of nights coming back staying in Boise, Idaho. I’ve never been Idaho before so new state.

So we’re going through Idaho and staying in Boise, and then driving all the way home from there. So it’ll be an interesting trip. We’ve got a couple of fun places to be able to stop or interesting places at least. I’ll show you what I can but I try not to do too many edits because that makes everything really difficult to put out.

But we’ll see what we can do, hang in there. Come along with me on this little adventure.

Stay tuned, subscribe, wherever you’re at. If you’re watching this years into the future. You’re welcome to watch it all. I’m sure we have it compiled together on some playlist and YouTube land or somewhere else. rumble wherever you’re watching it.

So that’s all I’ve got for tonight. Just a quick little preview of where we’re going into the future. You have a great night. be back tomorrow.

Go check out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. Get your own free copy at AmazonProofBook.com.

See you tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

The Shadow knows…content marketing?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I have a lot of odd interests and one of the strange interests that I’ve brought up in the past is, I really enjoy things that I want. It’s tied to my interest in all things from the 1930s and 40s.

I’ve got a strange fascination with things, you can see the old-style radio back behind me.

I’ve always had an interest in this time period ends because listen to my grandparents growing up during that time. And one of the things I have a real interest in was old-time radio.

So before the days of television, they had movies, you could go and watch a movie. But if you wanted ongoing entertainment beyond just going to the movie theater, there was only the radio. You could grab a book, or you can listen to the radio and they would perform just like they perform today on television. And a lot of the same standards that we have on television with 30 minutes, 60-minute shows, that all started on the radio.

Even soap operas themselves started on the radio, situation comedies, you know, drama, especially police drama, all that started on the radio, and they would have these radio shows.

And we still have a whole lot of them still available, even though a lot of them were performed live. Many of them were recorded, many of them were lost through time.

One of the shows was a show called The Shadow, and some of you may be vaguely familiar with this because in the 90s, they came out with a movie with Alec Baldwin as The Shadow.

He was basically an old superhero, I’m not going to get into the depths of all the shadow lore, but he was always one of my favorite characters from these radio shows.

And if you watch old movies and stuff, he was so popular at the time, you watch old movies, you watch cartoons from the time they make reference to him. And so you’re going Brian, what’s this have to do with business?

What’s this have to do with content marketing, which is the area that I have a modern interest in right now. And something that I’ve worked on quite a bit. And been and working with companies right now and helping develop content marketing, because it’s a burgeoning field, within online within social media, within the law, all this video and stuff that we’re putting out on a regular basis.

That’s all content marketing, but content marketing didn’t start with the internet.

Content Marketing has always been around. And it’s one of my most favorite types of marketing because it takes creativity. And I enjoy things that take creativity. I like the idea behind it.

So I’ll tell you how the shadow ties into this.

How the shadow came about is there was a company it’s the Street & Smith publishing company. And they had started publishing a magazine called, Popular. This was back in the early 1900s. Let’s see 1905 they had a real successful magazine, they branched out into all different types of magazines, and they had detective stories and Western stories. You know, most of the cases, these are fictional stories that are written that and they’d put these magazines out, I think on a monthly basis.

And they’d sell well all over the country and they make good money off and eventually, they sold internationally. So they had they in order to try and get more people to buy their magazines. They’d advertise their magazines in a million different places.

And one of the places they started advertising was on the radio.

Now how would you go about advertising a magazine of stories on the radio was a perfect fit. All they had to do was take one of the stories or a piece of one of the stories and dramatize it, have a bunch of actors play it out. They already had these actors hired at the radio stations.

You just had to go through the process and have them acted out and say hey, if you want to read this story and others like it, go pick up this magazine.

So they had a radio show. This was in the 30s they had a radio show called, Detective Story Hour.

And Detective Story Hour was an advertisement. It was an infomercial innocence for the detective story magazine. It’s very simple.

They’d have these stories. Well, they needed a narrator and so they had an ongoing narrator and what was the narrator’s name?

While they didn’t want to name them just anybody because that they couldn’t have any actor play it. So, they wanted something they kind of had control over.

So they created a character called, The Shadow.

It didn’t mean anything. It was just his name, his name was The Shadow.

Here’s what ended up happening though.

This show started getting popular, people started going to the magazine that the places where you get magazines, which most cases that’d be a newstand back then. You go they go to the newsstand and they say, hey, I want to get The Shadow magazine, where’s The Shadow?

Because he was the only thing that was consistent on the show. They couldn’t remember Detective Story. they remembered The Shadow, because he’s the guy that told the story.

So they got wind of this over the magazine, they said, Wow, people are already asking for it, let’s give them what they want.

They created a magazine called The Shadow, they created a character that was a little deeper than just a narrator on the show and they started having him going off and having adventures. So that got popular.

So you had a situation where they ended up making the radio show about the magazine that was created because of the radio show about the magazine, you see.

It’s really cool too and then it grew from there that show ended up becoming extremely popular, ran for years and years, never truly made the jump to television.

So many cool ideas and stuff are found out. And so many things have been taken from the shadow. If, if you look at his outfit here, it’s there’s been a whole lot of characters that have kind of copied this outfit, including a Disney cartoon, Darkwing Duck, if you I grew up watching those, it was based on the shadow so that there are little echoes throughout society from this one character that was created via content marketing, he was an advertising piece. That was his old purpose and he became one of the most popular magazines that this publishing company ever put out.

To this day is still a character that is licensed and controlled. In fact, they just came out, they just licensed a book with a Patterson, what’s his name? The writer…of course, it’s completely skipping my mind right now, who just who and he, in turn, had a ghostwriter put together a book. And it’s there’s a new book out there called The Shadow because it’s still as a valuable asset that produces money all these years later.

So you can use content marketing in a million different ways. Imagine now being able to have a back and forth conversation getting back and forth reaction to what you’re putting out there.

Because of social media, you can have direct communication with your end-user, and be able to improve whatever product or service you’re trying to provide.

It comes with really dedicating yourself to putting something out there on a regular basis, that tells a story that gives people communication that gives allows people to see you on a regular basis in a way that it especially in a way that other people in your industry are not doing perhaps even competition to you.

Here’s another idea.

In terms of competition, if you’re really scared of competition, if it’s really something that keeps you up at night, go check out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. Even if you’re not scared of competition, you ought to read these 9 ways to Amazon-Proof your business.

It’s about making your business completely competition-proof. And it starts right here. It starts with just changing your own mindset and changing how your entire company deals with competitive forces.

You get a free copy of this book at AmazonProofBook.com. You see, here I am creating content that promotes my material promotes my publication and also promotes everything and the publication, in turn, promotes my company and the fact that I’m a business investor and so on so forth.

So hopefully that all makes sense to you. If not, stay tuned, we’ll have more content just like this in the future.

You have a great night. Get out there and let the magic happen.

Business Documentary: Hey Moe! Hey Dad! πŸ€“ (The Three Stooges)

Thoughts on Three Stooges Documentary, Hey Moe! Hey Dad!

Business TV show: Hey Moe! Hey Dad!

I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Hey Moe! Hey Dad! is a mini-series that was put out, back I believe in 2015. I believe there are eight or nine episodes of it and it’s one full story.

Why am I bringing up the three stooges?

When it comes to business there’s a whole lot you can learn from this stuff. But let me take it back a little further.

The reason why I’ll love to make recommendations for movies and TV shows is that it gives you a very different view than say, you know how-to books, which is a lot of what I focus on, you know, like my, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. If you haven’t got a free copy yet, get it now while you can. And after you get your free copy, you’ll get the option to get an audiobook and a hard copy of it, you might want to look into AmazonProofBook.com. Go to AmazonProofBook.com for that very special deal.

I don’t know how long it’s going to last. So be sure and catch it while you can. So let’s talk about movies and TV shows. Now, this is kind of a mix because what this rule is is is a mini-series, this was a mini-series.

This is as if you had a very long documentary about the lives of the Three Stooges, that’s been stretched out and split out into eight different episodes. For me personally, this was fabulous, because I grew up with the three stooges.

But before I get too deep into that, let me continue on with the concept of why you should look at movies and TV shows and specifically documentaries. In specifically in that realm. Even when it comes to books. I love biographies, and autobiographies give you a different look in it helps encapsulate a person’s life.

You get to step back and you get to see it through the eyes of the writer or director or you know, producer of the movie. And you get to see from their point of view, and then you can kind of take it back to put it into your own point of view and see, okay, what do I relate with this person and what do I not relate to this person?

What can I learn from their life and what can I take away and move on my own and what can I see in other people and so on so forth?

That this is the story of our life is something that will never be able to be encapsulated in a book or a movie. But the fact that we can take an outside perspective and put it out there, and then yeah, and then be able to relive it a little bit and be able to learn something from their lives. That’s priceless. And that’s why I really enjoy biographies, anything of a biographical nature.

This is an interesting movie, because this mini-series takes Paul Howard, and who Paul Howard is he is the only son of Moe Howard. Now he also had a daughter who was also in the movie. But this is mostly from the perspective of Paul. Paul grew up having Moe Howard as his father.

Moe Howard is one of the main characters of the Three Stooges. And he goes through really talking about a life of living with a very famous person in a very, very odd type of famous person because really, they were the international clowns of America. They took a vaudeville show, and expanded upon it, and created something for the movie screen on an international basis that no one has ever experienced.

And then through the years, it morphed into different ideas and different concepts. But still, it’s very much a clown show. That’s what it is.

This is a situation of extreme entertainment, absolute theater of the absurd, and a whole bunch of different elements wrapped into one.

It’s interesting because with that you also see the highs and lows that come with success, which is also visible in business and there’s also a business side and interpersonal relationships, in terms of asking for what you’re worth versus not asking for what you’re worth being versus being too nice, versus wanting too much attention from people and not wanting too much attention.

And if you’re focused at all in an area where you have the ability to have any sense of notoriety or celebrity, and nowadays, it’s becoming more and more common with and it’s one of the things that I encourage you to do is that take advantage of the fact that celebrity is something that can be produced.

I talked about all my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business, you could check that out.

With that comes a whole lot of responsibility and a lot of people’s egos and backgrounds can handle the ability to be known without letting it go to their head.

And what you see is three brothers. So Moe, Curly, and Shemp, if you’re familiar with the three stooges, they were all brothers. And you see how each one of them dealt with celebrity differently, both in good and bad ways.

How it either allowed them to grow or destroyed them in the end. And you’ll have to watch the movie to see and also their friend, Louis Feinberg, who you know, as Larry from, The Three Stooges, how he plays into it, plus the two extra fellows that came toward the end, Joe Besser, and Curly Joe.

How these things all came into play, and how they went through popularity spikes through periods of time to where they were down in the gutter, and up into the stratosphere with how popular they were through the years.

Very, very, very interesting stuff that I never ever knew or had ever heard about. And it’s funny because I had never even heard this of this movie, of this series.

It’s worth checking out right now. But at the time of this recording it’s playing on to be, which is a free app, and both for Roku and you get it on your phone. That’s TUBI, you go check that out. I know it’s playing there.

I know they have a DVD out there, that’s a pretty decent price over on Amazon. The name of that show again is Hey, Moe! Hey Dad!

All from the perspective of the son of Moe. And but gives you a very thorough, I think, a very fair examination of the lives and success and failure of the Three Stooges, which is it’s just an incredible subject.

But it’s the story of humans and that’s what you just got to understand. And within that is we’ve through this concept of all these things that you have to deal with when you’re dealing with business, both success, and failure.

So love to hear what you think if you’ve seen it already. Leave me a comment down below. Let me know what you think.

Am I wrong?

Was this not really interesting?

I thought it was a kick. Plus, I’m sorry, I love The Three Stooges. I grew up with this stuff. As I got older, I went back and rewatched it and you find all these little intricate little jokes throughout, especially the verbal play back and forth was just amazing, especially in the 30s and 40s. They just had some amazing scripts, and it’s good stuff. The plus the genius of Curly is tough to deny.

So hopefully you’ve enjoyed that. That’s all I got for tonight.

I’ll be back here tomorrow night. In the meantime, you know, get out there and let the magic happen. Yeah lunkheads.

It’s Gotta Be Fun πŸ™‚

Get over yourself and have some fun. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Transcription

It’s gotta be fun.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I wanted to talk about this concept because the last yesterday’s talk, we were discussing how a person can kind of fall into workaholic workaholism, I guess you would call it, you know, when you’re just grinding, grinding, grinding, it’s like you’re never, never gonna stop.

And it’s like you’re trying to reach something. But pretty soon you forget what you’re trying to reach, and so forth.

There’s a lot of reasons why we do this and alone. And oftentimes, it’s to stave off the depression that comes as soon as you slow down.

I think a lot of the depression comes from not having a very clear direction of where you’re going. A very measurable idea of when you get there, also being very grateful about what you already have what you’ve already achieved.

Then there are just a couple of other pieces that come into it. I just picked it up, I may have had this book here for a year sitting here. I think this book came out in 05 I think I read this is, How to Be Number One In Your Business by Blair Singer.

And it’s a quick book. I mean, this is just as quick as my book, 9 Ways Amazon-Proof Your Business. While I’m mentioning it, if you haven’t read, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business, you can go get a copy on Amazon or wherever they sell books. But you can also get a free downloadable version over at AmazonProofBook.com.

But we won’t discuss that you watch any of my other videos to go into deeper amounts on that or you can go check it out.

But this one this how to be number one in your business. The subtitle is the secret to attract, retain and nurture a team that will make a lot a lot of money. And this is Blair Singer. He’s worked with Robert Kiyosaki and the Rich Dad organization.

His big thing is his teaching about sales, and so forth. And I think a lot of this has had to do with him putting together a sales team if I remember, and I was just leafing through it to try and remember some of the concepts in here.

And one of the things in chapter two, he says it’s got to be fun. There’s a simple idea there, that’s actually pretty deep. One thing I found is that most business owners, most people that are the boss, most people that get into this grind, grind, go, go mood, or rut, we should I say, if you get stuck in that situation, chances are you do not have built-in fun into your system into your business into your day to day life.

You don’t have fun built-in and honestly, you need to schedule it.

If you’ve ever heard that concept of scheduling fun, outside of business, you know scheduling extracurricular activity. Scheduling family time, all that stuff. That’s really important.

But I’m talking about within the business itself, the workday has to have elements of fun. At some point, you have to and you have to do it purposefully. You have to build it in you have to set a time to take everyone out, to go to a movie or to go have lunch or something, you have to build these things and you got to meet at somebody’s house.

Every other month or so you got to do something, you go mini-golfing, I mean, do something that’s awkward, strange, fun. You’re fun we’ll come along as soon as people get out of the norm. Just go and do something unusual.

And if you aren’t surrounded by fun people, you need to fire some people and hire some fun people. You need to surround yourself with people that want to have fun. If you don’t have that you’re you’re missing a huge element of your business and the whole thing will crumble.

Eventually, all it takes is the strong chains, links in the chain to give out or take some sick time or whatever. The whole thing will fall like a house of cards.

I’ve seen that happen too many times before. And it always comes from the idea that it’s simple. It’s simple, simple, simple, but this is a piece of humanity that we somehow think we can get around. You got to be having fun.

You’re not going to be able to lead people you’re not going to be able to bring people along for the ride. If you aren’t having fun. You will short-term.

You may think that you can do it just by tossing money around and that’ll work in the short run. In the long run, people stay and they follow Leaders when they’re having a good time, simple concept. It’s a lot. It’s tougher to put into play. But you have to know that you want to first and you’ll find a way to do it just like you do with everything.

If you’re like I say, the leader, the decision-maker in your organization and your business, so hopefully that makes sense. That’s just a quick tip for tonight.

That’s all I got. We’ll be back here tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

Grinders: Stop Killing Yourself ☠️

Did anyone ever compliment you for being a hustler, having high-effort, or perhaps even a Gruden Grinder?

I bet you thought that was a good thing. WRONG! πŸ˜€

Grinders: Stop killing yourself.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I heard I heard someone refer to this before about grinding your face off. In reference to the older people that are hustlers and grinders out there, when it comes to business and there’s a huge passion in doing the hustle and grind.

I’ll tell you what, I’m both schools. And as you can probably guess, I agree that there’s a time and place to really hustle. To really make things happen and to really, really grind things, shred things.

That place is limited, you’ve got to keep it to its source, do what you got to do when you got to do it, and take lots of breaks in between.

Because to go go go for years on end, there are graveyards full of people that do this.

I know, it’s not an intentional suicide. In most cases, it’s not people that really go out to kill themselves, you’re putting in a whole lot of work, because that brings meaning into your life, or at least it seems that way to you where you’re at right now, if this is you, if I’m talking to you, if you’re a grinder, then it seems like that is where you’re supposed to be.

But you have to take it easy in between just to get your bearings, you got to be able to take a deep breath. You got to learn to meditate or something, you got to back off and be able to get your bearings and say, okay, is this the right direction?

Is this the right speed?

Am I digging in the right spot for oil?

Because sometimes you’ll get a clue just when you’re quiet enough that you may not be in the right spot that you may be a few degrees off. And switching now is going to matter a whole lot more than switching later if that makes sense.

It’s that whole concept of if I’ve heard it said of pilots, okay, I’m not a pilot. I’ve never flown a plane love to someday. But right now, that’s not where I’m at and I’ve heard that when you’re on course when you’re set to go from here to here, you’re constantly resetting the course, or the software that’s running the plane is constantly resetting course.

And if it doesn’t do that, you will end up in a completely different place. If you just set the course, from when you take off and you don’t adjust, you’re going to end up somewhere else, you have to constantly move back and forth back and forth to keep yourself on course to make sure you’re going where you want to go.

In real life, honestly, sometimes you don’t end up wanting to go where he wants to go, you think you want to end up in New York, but where you really end up is in Louisiana or something like that, you know, you end up something somewhere completely different.

Because who you are partway through changes. And where you want to go your idea of where you want to go ends up changing, you got to make constant course corrections. And it’s really difficult to do that if you’re in the constant hustle and grind mode.

Now, I’m thinking of a particular person. So I have a friend who just partnered up with somebody and he’s working with somebody who he’s known a long time. But he can see that this guy who’s supposedly a really nice guy, real straightforward guy, straight shooter, nice guy.

He’s killing himself in business. He’s just out there pushing so hard. It’s clear, he’s not taking care of his health. And he’s probably gonna get a stroke or heart attack over the whole thing.

I’m telling you, if that’s you, if you’re one of these people, talk to somebody, you got to start somewhere to start talking it out.

I know nobody understands.

I know your spouse doesn’t understand.

I know that your employees certainly don’t understand.

Find somebody that has some perspective. Another business owner, an advisor, someone you can talk to just unload on because of a little bit of a course correction as you’re going along.

I’m not saying you got to pull your foot completely off of the gas, but a little bit of course, correct may mean the difference between early death and a death that’s right on time.

When you’re done, when you’re supposed to be done not way, way, way too early, because you’re just too you’re grinding it too hard. There’s just it’s just a thought that was on my mind because I knew of this particular person.

And I know there’s a ton of people out there that are in that spot. It’s a spot that I’ve overcome, personally, at least at this point in my life.

Hopefully, I don’t fall into that again but it’s a point that I’ve been able to overcome.
