Are you reality grounded?

I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Reality’s a funny thing, if you don’t pay attention to it, it’ll come up and bite you eventually. One way or the other, there does seem to be a reality, there does seem to be things, a system of laws or what have you.

There’s a nature that exists beyond us, and beyond what’s going up in our heads, you know, going on in our minds and our imagination. And that’s reality.

Reality is what it is, it’s a mathematical thing. It’s beyond human mathematics but mathematics and more mathematical science, directly relates to it.

It’s meant to try to explain to us the depth that the depotness?…I can’t think of the word, but to talk about how specific reality really is.

That’s math and science, get us closer to understanding that. But reality is something that it’s undeniable.

If you work enough in business, you realize that it’s not about you. And it’s not about really what you want in the long run, what really matters, in the long run is what is going on.

Then the way you’d like to have it and seeing what you could do to take it from where it is, to where you want it to be.

Where you want it to be, isn’t reality where you want it to be, as is where you think it should and will go. There’s an expectation factor in there but you have to know where you’re at first, you have to be honest about reality, what is happening in the now not what happened forever, up until now, not even the immediate past.

But what is happening right now?

There’s one major thing you got to watch on this and that’s not being emotional, not being caught up in your emotions.

Now we’re all emotional to some extent, we’ve got emotions, but being separate enough from your emotions to be able to see as close as possible, the black and white now changes everything.

That allows you to see where you can go next.

If you can’t be honest, if you can’t see clearly what is happening right now, what your circumstances truly are, you won’t be able to go forward because there’s a there’s a recording playing of the past and your mind.

I’ll give you a great example. I was having a conversation with my friend, and he knows who he is. He’s actually he’s living on the other side of the world. And we had a we had a really good conversation today.

We’ve been talking for a few weeks now and we had a really good conversation about where he’s at and was very clear that he was stuck. And that solutions were completely beyond him.

It’s because he was not in reality. He was in this alternate reality that we’ve all been in.

At some point, you may be in it right now, in this alternate reality in your mind that says, it’s not going to work.

Nothing can happen, right?

I’m being punished, I’m this the all these, this garbage is not the words even it’s the feeling that comes behind it. And we get stuck in this realm of nonsense. And it is nonsense. It’s not reality.

But to be able to sit back and be able to watch that see that is not reality. See that the emotions that fuel it are not reality. If you as you can do that. You slowly start to get a feel for what reality is you slowly start to get a feel for what may be possible.

Even ihave a lofty goal, or a dream that you’re that you’re centered on and you’re moving towards even if you don’t have that being able to take one step at a time in front of you. small baby steps forward is all that’s necessary. But that’s what being reality grounded is all about.

We had a great talk about that and had a and I think I know that I know that he he got something out of it, I know I got something out of it just bringing it up.

Because the same thing is true of me I’ve got that same, that we’ve all got that dark side that speaks to us and, and tries to steer us the wrong direction. And it’s not reality. Reality is is much more positive.

Even though it’s not, it’s but it’s not emotional.

Reality is a very unemotional straightforward thing and it’s important that as time goes on, you get more acquainted with it.

That’s what being reality grounded is all about. So why am I talking about being reality grounded, it’s because it is the third pillar of BrianJPombo.com.

When I’m working with new partclear-cutn I’m going into a business for the first time, I’m looking to instill some very clear cut principles, and they’re almost always somewhere in the realm of these three pillars.

One being relationship reliant, to which we discussed earlier, we discussed in an earlier conversation, being relationship reliant to being system based, which we just talked about yesterday, and three, being reality grounded.

Reality grounded is the most important of all those because if you can be reality grounded, you can find all the other principles, but you have to be in contact with that part of you that recognizes what’s true, and what isn’t true.

To know that you have to know first off, that there is a true and there is a not true. In the world, there is a reality and there’s an unreality and that unreality is not, it doesn’t exist, but it seems to be there, it seems to be stronger, louder.

It seems to be more visual and everything else. It’s just seems to be everywhere. But in reality, that’s not the case. In reality, reality is the strong thing. It’s the strong force in the universe, and you just have to know it.

Hopefully that makes sense. We’re talking about some very abstract concepts, but hopefully it’s helpful to you. If you if you agree with that, hey, go check out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business.

This is me attempting to take some principles from the realm of reality and make it to where it’s easily digestible for you and to take you in a direction that can help your business because it’s really using a lot of very straightforward ideas of both mathematics, but also psychology, human psychology, because when you’re in business, you’re looking to communicate with other humans.

Sometimes that’s the most difficult thing in the world to do is to get your message through everybody’s thick skulls. Self-evident business.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Happy Independence Day.

If you’re seeing that right when it came out, it came out while I’m filming it on July 3, but it’ll be out on July 4th, 2021. But the message is the same no matter what. It comes from that first line in the Declaration of Independence, which says, We hold these truths to be self-evident.

What does that mean?

I think it’s key, not only to the entire philosophy behind America, but it’s key to a point that I like to bring up a lot, which is being reality grounded.

There’s three pillars of BrianJPombo.com. One is being System-Based. We talked about that two nights ago. Two is being Relationship Reliant, which we talked about last night. And the third is being Reality-Based.

It’s the most important of all three because if your Reality-Based, you’ll figure out the rest, depending on what level of reality that you’re based in, but raw, excuse me, Reality- Grounded, if your Reality-Grounded, that’s what it’s all about.

So how do you know what reality is?

And you get back to a whole day I took a class in high school, and it was an extra class, you had to come in early to do it. It had college credit associated with it.

It was called the theory of knowledge, and the basic idea, the main question of the class that you explore throughout the class, and throughout philosophy and everything else was, how do you know what you know and how do we know what we know?

How do we know what we know is real or not?

What was a question that haunted me for a long time. I don’t think I ever finished that class. But it was one of those things where I thought, Well, it’s interesting to think about.

I kind of let it sit in the background for a long time. And then and then I heard a couple of people say through time, that the secret is that it’s self-evident.

Alright, and you’re saying, well, what’s this have to do with business, and I’ll get into that in a second. This has to do with business because business requires you, if you’re the business owner, if you’re the executive, if you have a really key job in the company that you work with, then it requires you to be very aware of the scenario that’s happening at the moment because things are always changing.

You’re always going to have to make a decision that just out of nowhere, you’re going to have to make a decision. So that’s based on everything that you know, at that time, and also based on your gut. And that’s really what self-evidence is all about.

Either something is true, deep down, or it’s not. If it’s not true, deep down, then it’s not really one of those hardcore truths, one of those principles, like I’ve talked about before.

But if it is, then it’s undeniable. It’s a self-evident truth. It’s planted in there.

There’s something deep down in each of us that tells us what’s true and what’s untrue. What’s reality, what’s not reality, and if your reality grounded, then you’ve got at least have a feel for that self-evidence.

Self-evidence is what it’s all about the entire country is based on it, you can’t have a system of laws without self-evidence. You can’t have a system, you certainly can’t have a constitutional republic without self-evidence.

You can’t really run things long-term without tyranny. Because tyranny, the basic idea behind old tyranny, right, is the idea that somebody knows something better than you do.

And what the Declaration of Independence said is that there’s, you know, there are differences between everybody but what we’re talking about the most basic rights of humans is a self-evident thing.

The fact that we we have rights at all, the fact that we shouldn’t be subject to murder, that we sue shouldn’t be subject to all these horrible things, it’s self-evident.

Either you get it or you don’t get it and if you don’t get it, you’re living in a whole different reality.

But the fact that the idea that there are truths, and that everyone has access to acknowledge them, is the basis for everything. It’s the basis for running a good business.

If you understand that, I think we’ll be able to have a longer conversation about this as time goes on just about any of my videos or podcasts out there about being reality-based comes back to this over and over and over again.

So being that it is Independence Day, and I don’t like focusing on 4th of July the date, because it’s it’s an arbitrary date, if you know anything about history, there was nothing specifically special that happened on 4th of July.

In fact, the founders disagreed that that should even be celebrated as the day. You know, some thought it should be the second or the 3rd, because there was a different day that the resolution was passed by everybody to accept the declaration, there were different days beyond that in which each person signed because it had to go all over the country to get signed by these specific individuals.

July 4th really doesn’t have a very specific significance other than they stamped it as, okay, this is the date. This is the day that they ended up agreeing on as saying, Okay, this will be the birthday that is close enough.

The Declaration of Independence is a fabulous read, read it again sometime this year if you get a chance, because there’s so much good stuff in there.

Any one of those lines especially in the preamble, there’s so much in there that you can go on for days and days and days on because it’s all based on self-evident truths. And either you acknowledge them or you don’t, but everyone has the ability to see them as being true. You may disagree, but you’re wrong.

Hopefully, that makes sense.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on self-evidence in business leave me a comment wherever you’re watching or listening to this. You check it out over at BrianJPombo.com, if you don’t have the ability to comment where you’re at, and we’re going to be back here tomorrow night.

Be sure to stay Reality-Grounded and do everything in your power to get there. It’s there’s nothing better.

3 Tips For Overcoming Overwhelm 😵

Brian shares his three ways to overcome overwhelm in your business.

3 Tips for Overcoming Overwhelm.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

That these kind of came to me as I was dealing with my own issues of overwhelm, which comes and goes, it’s nothing major.

I’m usually able to….I kind of stepped back and took a look and said, Okay, what are the ways that I’ve been able to overcome it every time that I come across a situation of overwhelm, which is common in business, especially if you’re still managing your business.

If you’re still running things, then you’re going to get to the point to where you’re going to get overwhelmed, you’re going to have too much going on. And so these are three ways that I have been able to get around it. And ironically….I don’t know if it’s ironic but it tends to be the three places I go to every time when it comes to fixing a problem.

And it tends to be where I take all my clients through, which is why I refer to them as my three pillars.

The first thing I look at is reality grounded, is being reality grounded, are you grounded reality, most of the time overwhelm is an emotional issue.

It’s getting too caught up with situations that are out of your hands that you don’t have any control over and getting all worked up and emotional and fussy or whiny, and depressed over things, you just don’t it, they don’t matter.

It’s a temporary thing it comes and goes and you have to be able to step back, step out of all of that resentment and frustration. And just look at things the way they are reality as close to reality as you can get is where you want to focus on.

So that’s number one. That’s the first thing I tried to do is try to center myself as best as possible.

Second thing that I tried to do is find somebody to help, which I refer to as being relationship reliant. Find a who that can help you.

Oftentimes we get all bogged down with how to fix something. There’s a great book out there, Who Not How. And it’s a fabulous concept, because we all get caught up in, okay, how am I going to get around this?

How is this going to get fixed?

And we get into the specifics, the details, the tactics, when really we ought to be asking who can help me who can fix this, who can I hire to take this off my hands.

That switch is major, you got to be emotionally stable enough to handle it first. But if you can then go from there and find find a person that can do it perfect.

The third thing that I use to overcome overwhelm, is build a system around it, especially if I don’t have a person to do it. But even if I do have a person to do it, I need to build a system that they can run it through so that even if that person goes away, or that person quits working for me or isn’t available, I could plug someone else into that and be able to fix the problem again and again.

And again, regardless of what the issue is. You got to have a system that that handles it.

That’s all about being system based.

So those are my three pillars of BrianJPombo.com is being reality grounded, relationship reliant and system based.

If you do them in that order, you’re going to get a whole lot more success. Sometimes it helps having someone just to help you through that process. It’s one of the things that I help my clients out with.

You’re welcome to find out more about how I go about doing that by checking out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. It handles a whole bunch of that philosophy. It’s a quick read, you can get a free copy at AmazonProofBook.com.

We’ll be back here tomorrow night. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

Feel painted into a corner?

Hi, I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today I wanted to bring up the third tier of what we consider the three tiers of BrianJPombo.com and just for review.

What we’ve been talking up until now is being Relationship Reliant and System Based.

The third one is, Reality Grounded.

Oftentimes we find ourselves painted into a corner because we set ourselves up that way to expect a certain result. If you do that, if you get caught up with your goals or get caught up with where you think things are going, you don’t allow flexibility to be able to move forward. I’ll give you an example.

This was a situation with one of my clients where we had discussed what the possibilities were going forward in the future. And when we had a meeting, it became clear, as everything started being laid out, that we were going to have to change slightly and go a slightly different direction.

It wasn’t a big move. In fact, it was original move that was planned that we had moved back to, or at least that was my suggestion, is that we moved back to this original plan.

Now, it would have been real easy to say, well wait, why are we doing that?

I thought we were going in this direction. Now we’re going in this direction. And there was some confusion there after we sat back and looked at it though I said, if you look at the big picture of things, we made the necessary changes, but that also made the original plan more of the the thing that we ought to do.

It made sense, at least from my limited perspective it made sense and that’s what I was recommending.

It’s real easy to get caught up with going in a particular direction and not wanting to pivot, but that flexibility, how do you build that flexibility?

One’s experience is going through enough situations to where you know you have to be flexible or you’ll break.

The main thing that I see that keeps people from being flexible in business is being too emotional. Getting emotionally invested in a particular outcome and that is being anti reality.

If you’re getting caught up with doing things a certain way, there is an emotional comfort zone that we paint ourselves into. It’s painting ourselves into a corner and you don’t quite know your way out of it.

How do you get away from that?

How do you get back to reality?

It’s about stepping back away from your emotional state, noticing that you’re in it, noticing that you’re reacting to something and just stepping back and taking a deep breath and saying, okay, what’s the reality of the situation?

What are we actually looking at?

What am I reacting to?

When you do that, you take that little brief moment to step back and take a look at the big picture. Everything tends to clear up.

Sometimes it means getting up and taking a walk. Sometimes it means, you know, getting a little bit of movement going and getting the blood flow into your brain.

But it all comes back on the inside. Step away from your emotions and come back to reality.

That’s why I talk about being Reality Grounded.

That is really the long-term concept that you want in your business. Reality grounding and then even if you aren’t in the reality state, if you fall into an emotional craziness, you want to make sure that the people that are around you can kinda hold you back and go, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. Just wait. Take a deep breath.

If you’ve got people like that around you, then you’ll be able to do the same thing when they’re in that state and we can all balance each other out.

It’s very helpful to have people in your team like that if you like to know whether you are paying the most attention to reality or not, then I suggest bringing people onto your team that help you out with that.

I’m one of those people that you can hire out to be able to work with you on a weekly basis.

Do You Put Off Fixing You?

http://DreamBizChat.com

That’s the question today.

Do you put off fixing you?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live brought to you by DreamBizChat.com. Coming to you from Grants Pass Oregon.

If you are a business owner or an executive in the self-reliance field and you are really looking to take your business to another level and not quite sure how to do it, you’re where you’re at but you want to take it to the next level and you want somebody to be able to talk around your ideas, go to DreamBizChat.com. Link is in the description.

There’s a video there you can watch to see if the dream biz chat would work for you. Now today we’re going to talk about putting off fixing yourself. I think a lot of us procrastinate on that we’re like, “Oh, I’ll deal with that later.”

But a specific thing in general that I came across today with an associate of mine and it’s a grudge. If you have a grudge with somebody, if you’ve got a pent up resentment towards someone, especially if you need to work with this person long-term, you’ve got to get it off your plate, you’ve got to get it out of the way.

So a friend of mine came to me and was telling me about this grudge that he had with somebody and he wanted to talk about it a little bit and I said, well in the end you need to talk with that person. You need to get over it.

You either need to find a way to drop it yourself or you’ve got to confront it with that person and tell them what’s going on and either find a way around it or get out of the situation where you have to work with this person.

You got to make sure that you’ve got something good going. He wanted to put it off.

He said, “Yeah, you know, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.”

And I said, well, if you’re telling me all these other things that came about because of it, because one thing leads to another, leads to another to where you can’t stand being in the same room with a person, where you can’t stand listening to them talk, it get to the point where they can……. I know men specifically get to the point where they could have so much rage towards somebody they feel like punching them in the face and it’s not healthy.

These are things you’ve got to get over.

It’s necessary sometimes to have to go so far in one direction that you realize you’ve got to stop and go, okay, wait a second. What’s going on?

This comes back to a point that I like to go back to over and over again about being a reality grounded.

It’s important to be reality grounded. Whenever you find, “the ground of your being” form of emotional earthquake, you have to keep in mind that something’s wrong.

You got to fix it and you’ve got to fix it as soon as you can. As soon as you are able to see that something’s wrong, take advantage of that inspiration and fix it.

Don’t let it go. You let it go. It will only faster. It will only get worse. It will morph into something else and most of the time if you’ve got a problem with somebody, it’s going to come about….even if that person passes away before you’re able to solve it, it’ll come up in the next version of that person.

A look alike person, someone that smells alike, someone that has the same attitude or the same personality and it will just get worse and worse and worse through time.

That’s why most psychologists and everything, they say that most of our problems with people, when we really have an instinctual issue with somebody right off the bat, it comes back to issues with your parents because you didn’t solve the issue with your parents.

You end up running into, you think about the parent that you got.

You get along with the worst or got along with the worst, and you’ll notice that if you never solved your issues with them, you end up meeting your parent and person after person, after person. Usually you end up marrying that person.

It comes up over and over and over again.

It’s the nature of trauma.

I don’t want to get too deep into this, but this is important for your business. If we’re having a good, serious business talk. Good serious business deals and working with people.

Especially a business that gives you any form of passive income or any type of stability, keep that in mind when you’re running across a person that you just can’t stand, get over it or be direct with them and get it out of the way. Get that concept out of the way.

Don’t just bury it on the inside. Get over your resentments of people and you’ll find life will become a whole lot more easier and your business will become more of a blessing to your life.

Hopefully that’s helpful.
